See Tuscany like you've never seen it before!

Tuscany (Italy)

The Tuscany region in Italy is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world - and rightly so.

This Mediterranean region has a wealth of treasures. From the Ponte Vecchio that spans the Arno in Florence to the Piazza del Campo in Sienna, where the renowned Palio is held every year, or from the Chianti Classico vineyards to the Accona desert to the recently-restored Tower of Pisa, Tuscany has plenty of world-renowned attractions. The Tuscan landscapes are, of course, just as incredible.

Lined with cypresses that carve out their own vertical panoramas, the roads in this region are renowned for their beauty. A vineyard on one side, a field of olive trees on the other, a Renaissance villa perched on top of a gently rolling hill; a postcard view to enjoy at every turn.

Tuscany's minor country roads meander over the hills and valleys in never-ending variations. In the land of the scooter and "la Dolce Vita," two-wheeled vehicles are the way to go. The winding roads could have been mapped out purely for motorcyclists' enjoyment.

Riding a motorcycle in the hills of Tuscany is a heady, exhilarating experience: the very essence of driving pleasure. On a roadster, a trail bike, or tandem on a GT, equipped with the new MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 tire, there is no resisting the call of those sweeping bends. Take, for instance, the stretch of road you take as you leave the little hilltop village of Monticchiello. You'd think it led to the Garden of Eden and you'd been caught in flagrant enjoyment of all the sensual experiences the place has to offer.

Who cares if the blacktop is sometimes a bit uneven, or if the road is narrow between the cypresses? Motorcycling here is as sweet as eating "un gelato" on a summer's day in the shade of a Il Duomo.

From palaces to churches, from museums to villas, architecture is part of the soul of Tuscany. In a region where the towns have a prestigious past and an outstanding architectural heritage, every building, every field, every vine is well-tended, neat, and elegant. All of Italy is here.

From antiquity to the Middle Ages, from the Renaissance to the present day, Tuscany has an attractive and beautiful character that you'll discover as the days go by. Drivers pass by backfiring scooters, colorful and noisy markets, and stone villages tucked away from tourist crowds and big cities, like the charming San Quirico d'Orcia a few miles from Monticchielo.

Touring Tuscany by motorcycle is a journey of excellence, and riders choose it for one reason only: pleasure.
