Excellent beginner/intermediate tire

Doc Samson - July 28, 2020

Went through 2 sets of Q3 's before going to these 2CT's. While these are not as "high performance" as the Q3 , they match my skill set nicely. The Q3 's were great but more tire than I can effectively utilize or need. The 2CT's are a great price, have typical wear longevity, and performed well at my most recent track day where it got into the mid-90's for most of the day. They now have about 2,500 miles on them and I estimate another couple thou /- another track day before needing to be replaced. Two areas where I do feel they are the equal to, or slightly better than, the Q3 's are: 1) Road feel and 2) Initial turn-in. Will be buying again!

My favorite for aggressive riding but street usability

Mattk - July 1, 2020

So I put a good amount of miles on my bike per year and usually change out the rear at least three times over the riding season. I’ve tried out many different tires from harder working my way up to softer Over the last three and a half years and this is the sweet spot I moved back down to that I love. Switched from Michelin and went through two sets of Q3 s because of the popularity but these tires are better by a landslide if you’re not doing 90% track riding. Not so soft that they’re pencil erasers that will get flat spots every time the wheel locks even for an instant but plenty grippy. You don’t have to be scared of “backing-it-in” or sliding the rear tire as much although I’m sure excessive amounts would. Also the time it takes to heat up to optimum grip is much quicker and a much more manageable level for aggressive street and back road riding. Only have to wave the bike around for a minute or so before I can do a hard launch and not worry about spinning. I have the chicken strips rubbed about all the way off and never felt any kind of loss of control when at full lean. Had tried the pilot power 3s as well which are great for those that want something sporty but aren’t as aggressive. This is the perfect middle ground if you ask me. I get about 3-3.5k miles out of them. Granted I ride a Z900 which is a bit more torquey than 600cc sportbikes but as much horsepower and has a really short first gear which when combined with frequent clutch ups probably wear them down much faster. Pretty sure I’m gonna stick to these for quite a while as I’m about to put my fourth set on in a week and don’t care much to move in any other direction unless an upgraded version comes out one day.
